A Personal Journey
My name is LaQua Harrison, and I began my journey in research administration in 2014—first managing clinical trials, then later transitioning into basic science research administration. I vividly remember those early days: the overwhelming regulations, the intricate compliance requirements, the constant deadlines. At times, it felt like too much to absorb.
But I’m a thinker. I don’t just want to complete tasks—I want to truly understand what I’m doing and why it matters. I take pride in doing a good job, and it’s difficult to excel when you only grasp half of what the role requires. That mindset drove me to dig deeper, ask questions, and learn the full landscape of research administration.
I was fortunate to have exceptional leaders who invested their time in me—leaders who taught with patience, supported my learning pace, and understood that real mastery takes understanding, not just repetition.
That experience shaped everything. It showed me the power of quality training. Over time, I realized that training isn’t just something I’m good at—it’s my passion. I genuinely thrive on helping others excel, gain clarity, and feel more confident and capable in their jobs.
